For the very first time Alexander Wang did not include even one piece of black in his Spring Summer 2011 Collection. There’s always been this edgy “dark touch” which defined a part of the designer’s DNA. “This season everything changes” said Alexander as he explained that he was seeking a certain level of purity, in an optimistic way. This purity is felt in the hair and makeup as well as in the nails. For many seasons Nonie Creme, butter LONDON founder & artistic director, created a very matte, custom color, but this season while keeping the ‘Matte A. Wang” signature, she stripped the nails of any color.
“This season the nails are matte, short, clean, crisp. This is a modern contemporary finger nail, frosted glazed, slightly hazy. I love the fact that this look can be easily recreated at home” said the always enthousiastic Nonie Creme backstage. “It’s like nail lingerie” a reporter pointed out.
It’s may be nail lingerie but it’s environementelly friendly. butter LONDON’s has redefined the nail care industry by offering colorful, not carcinogenic. No Formaldehydes, no Toluenes, and no DBP nail polish are defined by the number three in every bottle.
Get this nail style: Nonie Creme & manicurists first used the butter LONDON Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator then applied one coat of butter LONDON Nail Foundation Flawless Basecoat followed by two coats of the butter LONDON Matte Finish Topcoat. All butter LONDON nail polish can be purchased via butterlondon.com, beauty.com and Nordstrom.com.
Get this makeup style: Diane Kendal simply refreshed model faces with M·A·C cleansing wipes, and applied M·A·C Studio Moisture Fix Lotion for a healthy and hydrated glow. M·A·C Moisture Lush Cream was applied to the body for a similar effect. M·A·C concealer and M·A·C powder blotted out eyebrows. All products by MAC Cosmetics via Nordstrom.

Given our audience, it’s almost silly to even ask the question. That’s said, I am overly excited to report that NYMag.com is giving away a free, all expenses paid trip for two to NYC Fashion Week Spring Summer 2009 this upcoming September. You and a guest will be hobnobbing it with other celebs on the runway, while us poor folks watch idly outside in the cold, crowded streets in front of Bryant Park.
So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and visit NYMag.com The Cut and click on the giveaway.
Oh, and you do NOT have to subscribe to NYMag’s subscription. Look for the skip the subscription button on the right hand panel following the jump.
